Further information

Understand the appellation system, the notion of terroir and Bourgogne’s Climats. Learn how to see, smell and taste the white and red wines of Bourgogne and to identify their aromas.

This day’s tasting has been designed to introduce you to the methodology and practice of tasting wine.

You will also learn how to keep and serve the wines, as well as how best to match them with food.

After a hearty lunch and tasting, the afternoon is devoted to discovering the vineyards, with a study of the landscape in the Grand Crus of the Corton hill, followed by a tutored tasting on the themes of terroirs and vintages.

By the end of the day, you will be more comfortable approaching a glass of Bourgogne, armed with the right words to describe the wines and share your impressions.

Classes and visits are led by an educator from the Ecole des vins de Bourgogne.

This training is open to all and does not require prior knowledge of Bourgogne wines, tasting, or the world of wine more generally.
